How to Complete The Dragon Ball Focus Training Quests in Fortnite

Fortnite players can now tackle the Focus Training quest set during the Fortnite x Dragon Ball crossover event. These quests seem designed to test the skill and patience of even the most dedicated Dragon Ball fans, many of whom are making the final push towards completing their event quests and grabbing all the free cosmetic rewards introduced during Fortnite x Dragon Ball. Where players could complete previous quest sets such as the Fortnite x Dragon Ball Warmup quests by putting in just a bit of effort, the eight quest objectives in the Focus Training set demand that players demonstrate their skills and dedicate plenty of time and effort in order to get rewards.

Unlike previous Fortnite x Dragon Ball quest sets which tend to have a narrower focus on certain aspects of the Fortnite experience such as combat or environmental destruction, Focus Training’s eight quest objectives are a truly eclectic group. Players are challenged to prove their marksmanship skills by engaging in long-range combat, doing damage to distant opponents, and scoring headshots, as well as demonstrating their familiarity with the Fortnite island map by grabbing rare loot. To cap this all off, players must also show off their powers by striking down their opponents using Dragon Ball’s Kamehameha from atop a Nimbus Cloud.

Fortnite’s Dragon Ball character skins are available only as premium content in the Fortnite Item Shop, but by completing quests, all players can earn Power Level Points and increase their Power Levels. This in turn gives players a bunch of neat Dragon Ball-themed cosmetic rewards from Power Unleashed!, essentially a mini-Battle Pass introduced exclusively for this crossover event. However, given their difficulty, players will likely find the Focus Training quests to be a big obstacle on their path to increase their power.

Hit 20 Headshots While Aiming Down Sights

For this quest, players need to score 20 headshots against their opponents while aiming down sights. On paper, it might sound like this is asking players to snipe their opponents at a distance, eliminating other players with precise headshots, but there aren’t any real restrictions on what weapons players can use. All guns, including Fortnite’s best new weapons, have ADS, so this is very much up to personal preference.

One good approach is using combat rifles such as the Hammer Assault Rifle and Ranger Assault Rifle, which are highly accurate in mid-range gunfights. Players might find that improved accuracy in the mid-range helps them get headshots more consistently. Players can tell they’ve scored a headshot if gold damage numbers appear, indicating a critical hit. All in all, 20 headshots will take some effort as it’s easy for players to throw off someone else’s aim by crouching, sliding, or hiding.

Do 200 Damage To Players From 75 Or More Meters With Scoped Weapons

This quest does have synergy with the first quest in this list if players opt to use scoped weapons to get their 20 headshots, so players might like to do these two quests together to save some time. Scoped weapons such as Fortnite’s Exotic Boom Sniper Rifle or the newly introduced DMR do plenty of damage, so players shouldn’t worry too much about this quest’s 200 damage requirement.

The distance requirement is actually what makes this quest challenging. Players should remember to factor in bullet drop. On top of that, shots at this distance have a small lead time, so players should try and shoot where they think their target is headed, instead of directly at the target. Setting up a sniper’s nest and putting down a marker on the map 75 meters away is also recommended, as this allows the player to see whether their intended targets are too close for their shots to count towards this quest.

Collect 3 Rare Or Better Items From The Ground Within 3 Seconds Of Landing From The Battle Bus

Rare items such as Fortnite’s wood-cutting Ripsaw Launcher all have a blue aura surrounding them that indicates their rarity. Players can complete this quest by picking up Epic and Legendary items as well, but it’s arguably best to focus on blue Rare items as these appear more frequently. Unfortunately, the loot players can find when they land varies between matches even if they drop at the same location.

The best landing spots for this quest are Landmarks and Named Locations with lots of open space, such as Lazy Lagoon. Open space benefits players as this means they can easily spot rare items while gliding in and can adjust their movements accordingly. While rare items aren’t guaranteed to spawn out in the open at Lazy Lagoon, this location is both open to the air and has an abundance of loot drops, improving players’ chances.

Damage A Player With The Kamehameha Before Landing From The Nimbus Cloud

Fortnite’s Kamehameha special event item is incredibly powerful and most players will undoubtedly have encountered it or even used it themselves by now. There are several ways to obtain the Kamehameha and Nimbus Cloud, including by looting Capsule Corp Capsule drops or purchasing them from a Dragon Ball vending machine or from Bulma, who is currently visiting the Fortnite island as an NPC.

For this quest, players first have to use the Nimbus Cloud to propel themselves into the air, before following up by switching to the Kamehameha and blasting anyone unfortunate enough to be nearby. This can be difficult as both the Nimbus Cloud and the Kamehameha produce loud anime-style sound effects that will definitely put other players on alert. However, players who’ve completed Fortnite x Dragon Ball Sparring Practice quests will also be well aware that the Kamehameha can be aimed even when the player has unleashed their power. It’s worth noting that players don’t actually have to eliminate another player for this quest; doing any amount of damage is sufficient.

Swing From 5 Different Trees Without Landing With The Grapple Glove

Even if Fortnite’s Spider-Man skin isn’t currently on sale, players can still recreate part of the Spider-Man experience by finding a Grapple Glove. The Grapple Glove allows players to latch on to nearby objects and swing themselves up into the air. With all of the Dragon Ball-themed content in the game at the moment, this item is sadly getting overlooked, but players can reliably find Fortnite’s Grapple Gloves at Grapple Stops. These are special sheds painted neon pink, making them easy to spot. Grapple Gloves can be found by looting Grapple Glove Toolboxes at Grapple Stops.

The best spot to complete this quest is to land at Rave Cave, where a Grapple Stop can be found inside the cave next to the big dance floor near the water. Players can then run out of Rave Cave and latch on to the tall pine trees that grow in that part of the Fortnite island. In order to swing without landing, players should try and latch on to nearby trees as they reach the end of their swings.

Mark A DMR, SMG And Pistol

All players have to do for this quest is mark the DMR, any SMG, and any pistol when they spot one during their travels. Surprisingly, there’s no real catch here: players don’t have to mark particularly rare items such as Fortnite’s powerful Exotic Weapons for example. Players can mark guns of any rarity too.

Travel 750 Meters In A Vehicle On Asphalt

This quest tasks players with finding a vehicle and driving 750 meters on asphalt. Vehicles can be found at most urban locations on the Fortnite island such as Tilted Towers and Coney Crossroads, as well as at the numerous petrol stations dotted all around the map. Driving on asphalt essentially refers to driving on paved roads, which isn’t particularly challenging. However, vehicles do tend to make a lot of noise, so it’s likely that players will be shot at while out on a drive.

Players do have other means of getting around, including riding on Fortnite’s animal mounts. However, this quest is very specific about asking players to drive vehicles on asphalt, so players should seek out a fast car if possible.

Complete 3 Focus Training Quests

Players will likely know the drill by now if they’re engaging with Fortnite x Dragon Ball’s Focus Training quests. Completing three quests in this set earns players a Dragon Ball, which goes towards unlocking the Shenron glider.

The Focus Training quest set will likely prove challenging even for skilled Fortnite players. Its objectives vary a lot, tasking players with using several different weapons and items, some of which have seen only niche usage in Fortnite matches thus far. However, completing these quests arguably trains players and familiarizes them with little-used items, serving as excellent preparation for Fortnite’s most challenging weekly quests and ultimately helping them get better at the game.
