Doctor Doom Gets a Powerful Levelup During Marvel's Fortnite War CBR

The following contains spoilers for Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War #4, on sale now from Marvel Comics.

Doctor Doom increases his power with a new weapon in Marvel's Fortnite crossover.

Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War, a five-issue miniseries written by Christos Gage and Epic Games' Chief Creative Officer Donald Mustard with art by José Luís, revolves around the heroes of the Marvel Universe helping Fortnite Island's resistance fighters, the Seven, to stop the Imagined Order, a villainous organization comprised of scientists who force others to fight in endless battle royale death matches. In the title's fourth issue, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Shuri, Agent Jones and the Imagined are in pursuit of the Zero Shard, a piece of the Zero Point that possesses immense power, to repair the Seven's massive mech and possibly end the Zero War with the Imagined Order. The five heroes find the Zero Shard in the possession of Doctor Doom though, who has learned to harness its abilities.

geno in fortnite
The only time genö was mentioned was during the zero crisis finale, where they were briefly mentioned by agent jonesy, during which the foundation (outfit) was attacking him. Geno's name was originally mentioned in fortnite chapter 2 season 6, where agent jones came across the foundation for the first time. Fortnite chapter 3, season 2 just wrapped up after another explosive finale.

Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War #4 shows Doom using the Zero Shard to destroy the area around himself and the heroes and fight against those who wish to take the shard from him. Previously, the Zero Shard was under the control of the High Evolutionary, a villain who is set to be introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Chukwudi Iwuji's portrayal in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). Before Doom, the High Evolutionary used the Zero Shard to further his genetic experiments and bonded the shard with Antarctic Vibranium, a metal found within the Marvel Universe's Savage Land.

Shuri uses the combination between the Zero Shard and Antarctic Vibranium to electrify Doctor Doom and cause him to drop the shard. Spider-Man quickly webs the shard away from the Marvel villain, and brings it the Seven's mech so that it can be powered up. However, despite his defeat, Doctor Doom still has an alliance with the Imagined Order.

Doctor Doom Has Allied Himself With Fortnite's Villains

The end of Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War #1 revealed that Doom has joined the Imagined Order's inner circle and is in contact with the organization's founder, Geno. As of writing, only one issue is left for the series, which is set to release Sep. 28, 2022. Whether Doom or Geno will appear in the miniseries' finale remains to be seen.

Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War #4 is written by Gage and Mustard with interior art by Luís, inks by Sean Parsons and Belardino Brabo, colors by Edgar Delgado and letters by VC's Joe Caramagna. Main cover art for the issue is by Leinil Francis Yu and Sunny Gho, with variant cover artwork contributed to by Jen Bartel, Stephanie Hans, Kael Ngu, Phil Noto, Ron Lim and Israel Silva.
