Fornite fans are furious after it has been supposedly discovered that a glitch with the new Erisa skin is essentially pay-to-win.

Fornite Chapter 3 Season 2 left us all a bit stunned, to say the least. When the update arrived, players were surprised to find a whole load of changes to the game, including the controversial removal of build mode. However, the response to the new update has ended up being overwhelmingly positive, with no build mode becoming so popular, that Epic Games is reportedly planning to make it permanent.

As well as the new mechanic, a whole collection of skins arrived with the update, including a mysterious character by the name of Erisa. Although, eagle-eyed players have noticed an even more mysterious glitch surrounding the character which arguably makes the skin pay-to-win.

How Is The Erisa Skin Pay-To-Win?

As Fortnite players explored the latest collection of skins and cosmetics available through the Battle Pass, YouTuber "GKI" noticed a glitch prompted by equipping Erisa with the new Guardian Daggers Pickaxe. According to GKI, the pairing causes Erisa's footsteps to be silenced meaning players could very easily sneak up on an enemy without being heard. However, given how players have to purchase the Battle Pass to obtain the combo, many fans are claiming it is pay-to-win.

It doesn't appear as though the glitch happens when players use any other weapon while equipped with the Erisa skin other than the pickaxe. As GKI proved in their video, when carrying a gun Erisa's footsteps could still be heard loud and clear, which would alert nearby enemies of your presence. It's not entirely clear whether the glitch happens with only one of Erisa's three colours, but GKI demonstrated the glitch when playing in Cerulean.

How Do You Unlock The Erisa Skin?

Erisa and the Guardian Daggers Pickaxe are only available by players purchasing the Battle Pass. Then, it's a hard grind to unlock all items on Page 8 of the pass and you'll need to make sure to have saved up nine Battle Stars to purchase Erisa. Not to mention, you would need to have unlocked all the other cosmetics on the page first before you can get your hands on the new Anime-inspired skin.

Epic hasn't confirmed or responded to the claims of the glitch, as of writing. However, players will no doubt be ploughing through the Battle Pass in order to take advantage of the malfunction before it's too late.
