Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 is out now and downtime is over. Despite some initial issues with the servers - due to popularity - everything is now stable and working as planned!
This update has brought us some pretty incredible changes already with building being REMOVED for Fortnite entirely!
We have all of the Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 leaks, and details on when it is due to begin.
Latest - Season 2 has begun!
As we mentioned, there were some teething issues before Season 2 could properly get started but that's all been dealt with for now.
Building has been removed, Doctor Strange has arrived and it looks like we're in for quite the adventure as the story unfolds.
Story Trailer released
Now that the Fortnite servers are down we have the first Season 2: Resistance trailer! This should be followed by the battle pass trailer soon and eventualyl the return of servers within a few hours.
Downtime Confirmed
While we're still awaiting official teases, Epic has confirmed the start time for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2.
The downtime will begin at 3am ET/7am GMT on March 20, with the new content going live later in the morning.
More Star Wars Season Teases
For a while, signs have pointed towards Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 having a huge Star Wars influence.
Now, Donald Mustard has tweeted what could be yet another tease.
If the whole season is based on Star Wars, it could be extremely exciting and unique.
Are we getting an event soon?
Usually, when the final update of a Fortnite season comes around, we learn a lot more about any end of season events. As Fortnite Update 19.40 came and went, there was nothing to speak of in the files.
Now this leaves us unsure of whether or not an event is planned to end Season 1 or start Season 2. All signs point towards more of a cut and dry end to the season perhaps with a cutscene rather than an interactive event.
Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 Leaks
Fortnite content creator @TaborTimeYT has come up with the Season 2 goods alongside @MidaRado. The big news is that another war with The Imagined Order looks set to take place. There was some belief that the IO had been vanquished as part of the Flipside event at the end of Chapter 2 but it looks like they're still about and ready to launch an attack.
A slightly more minor leak suggested that a driveable vehicle with mounted turrets would drop into the game. This could be as part of an in-game event rather than for general Battle Royale use.
Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 Release Date
The expected release date for Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2 is set to end on Saturday, 19 March 2022. This places the start date for Season 2 - most likely - at Sunday, 20 March 2022.
There is every possibility that there is some extended downtime lasting through to the usual update day of Tuesday but there's no hint of that at this moment in time. If extended downtime was to occur we expect to know about this a few weeks prior to the launch of the new season.
We'll keep you up to date with the latest news, leaks and general updates as we head towards Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 2.
