Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 is finally here and it’s apparently hitting new records in the number of concurrent players at the game, which absolutely comes with a cost for players. What’s the cost? Well, let’s first answer this: What does “Waiting in Queue” mean in Fortnite?
As one of the most popular games in the world that’s available on a wide variety of gaming platforms, Fortnite has had a very big day today with the launch of a brand new chapter.

From building getting disabled to tons of new changes, features, gameplay mechanics, and locations, there is no shortage of new stuff in the game. Fans are striving to experience the new content as soon as possible. But that’s probably why some players cannot get the chance to play Fortnite.
If you are getting a “Waiting in Queue” notification in Fortnite when you attempt to begin a match, this is because of the huge number of players that request to join a game at the same time.
Normally, this doesn’t happen in Fortnite, but when the game gets new content, some players in the crowded regions of the world might have to wait longer than expected to be able to join a game.
In addition to this, it seems like Fortnite is also experiencing some server and matchmaking issues in the back-end, according to the official Twitter account of Fortnite Status.
So, all you can do right now is to be more patient than before, and maybe try out a few hours later, when the servers are not too busy.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 is now available for free on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
