New Fortnite Weather Affects - Tornadoes, Lightning, and More!

The new weather system has finally arrived to Fortnite! Players will now encounter tornadoes forming around the island, but instead of running away from them, jump into them to make a quick getaway from enemies.

Once inside the tornado, you won't take any fall damage when you come back down, but if you stay inside of it long enough you'll get spat back out.

As for lightning, Epic Games states that it will deal a small amount of damage if a player is hit by it and will also set the surrounding area on fire. However, there is a benefit to being struck by lightning, players gain a temporary speed boost after being struck.

If you want to be struck by lightning in Fortnite, jump into a body of water beneath the cloud, or reach the highest land point under it. For more details, visit the Epic Games website.

Where To Find Tornadoes In Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1

Unfortunately, there isn't a set location to find the new tornadoes in Fortnite as the spawn chance is completely random. However, Epic Games did state in their new blog post that Tornado Week is live until January 17th, during this time there's a higher percentage chance that players will encounter tornadoes around the island.

So although there's no set location, there is a great chance you'll encounter one simply by playing.
